KIDS AT HOME UA
For children who survived the occupation

The project is implemented by the Joint Center for the Coordination of the Search and Release of Prisoners of War and Other Persons Unlawfully Deprived of Liberty as a Result of the Armed Aggression against Ukraine, operating under the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). The Center's activities related to the return of Ukrainian children and its cooperation with governmental and civil society organizations are carried out in accordance with Resolution No. 551 of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
Today, 2,495 Ukrainian children have officially returned home from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and the territory of the Russian Federation. Among them are children who survived forced displacement and unlawful deportation.
At the same time, thousands of families who managed to leave the occupied territories on their own and relocate to areas under the control of the Government of Ukraine also require comprehensive support, recovery, and reintegration. According to available data, more than 19,000 Ukrainian children still remain in occupied territories, where they continue to face serious risks to their safety and well-being.
Kids at Home UA is a place where children can rediscover a sense of safety, care, and belonging. It is a space where every child can finally feel: I am home. I am cared for. I am not alone.
The initiative brings together the efforts of the Ukrainian government and civil society to ensure that every child returning home has access to psychological support, opportunities for recovery, and the chance to rebuild their future in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Program Includes
Psychological Support for Children and Their Families
We provide professional psychological support to help children and their caregivers regain emotional stability, cope with the effects of trauma and prolonged stress, restore a sense of safety, and strengthen caring family relationships.
Family Recovery and Reconnection
Traumatic separation can deeply affect family bonds. Our specialists support families in rebuilding trust, restoring communication, and reconnecting with one another after long periods of separation or other difficult experiences.
Educational Reintegration
Returning to school is an important step in a child's recovery. We prepare teachers to work with children who have experienced occupation, while also helping classmates and parents create welcoming, inclusive, and supportive learning environments where every child feels accepted.
Emotional Recovery and Rehabilitation Activities
Creative workshops, cultural events, educational programs, group activities, and recreational experiences help children express their emotions, reduce stress, rediscover the joy of childhood, and rebuild confidence in social interactions.
Personal Development and New Opportunities
Through sports, arts, educational clubs, rehabilitation programs, and other extracurricular activities across Ukraine, children are encouraged to explore their interests, develop new skills, and regain confidence in their abilities.
International Recovery Programs
Safe educational and cultural trips abroad provide children with new experiences, friendships, and opportunities to broaden their horizons while restoring hope, confidence, and belief in a future full of possibilities.
We help children regain a sense of calm, rediscover themselves, and confidently embrace new opportunities through learning, creativity, meaningful connections, and personal growth—laying the foundation for a hopeful and fulfilling future.
